Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween, Everyone!

Today is my second favorite day of the year. (Christmas is my favorite if you didn't know) I look forward to this day every year and love watching the morning talk shows to see what type of Halloween celebration they are going to have on television.

This past Sunday night Dan and I carved our pumpkin, baked some goodies, and enjoyed the cool weather that Orlando has had the past couple of days.  Ever since I was little, I have always carved pumpkins with my family, and now that I live away from them, I’m still making sure I continue my holiday traditions.

Tonight Dan and I went to a Halloween Festival our city puts on every year. We live in an older neighborhood and don’t have many trick-or-treaters, so we decided it was the place to be this lovely Wednesday night. Honestly, it was just geared towards children and their families that wanted to stand in line for candy. There wasn't much else to do, but Dan and I had a fun time walking around looking at all the creative costumes and enjoying the weather.

I hope everyone has a safe and happy Halloween!

Halloweekend

Happy Halloweekend for those of you who have been celebrating this weekend. I always love the hype leading up to Halloween. Sometimes I think I enjoy the actual moments leading up to the holidays in general!

Last night Dan and I attended our friends’ 3rd annual Halloween party and it sure did not disappoint.  Before the party we stopped off at Moes. I haven’t been there in over a year and was having a craving for a quesadilla. Well, I saw ranch on the menu and if ranch is anywhere to be seen, I’m all about it. (More to come on that in a different post). I ordered the Chicken Club Quesadilla that had Chipotle Ranch on it and boyyyyy was it spicy. I am not one for hot sauces and this was a tad over the top for me. All in all it was good, but I think I’ll stick to my normal quesadilla next year when I go in.

What the Goodies Looked Like- Can’t forget a side of queso! (Their queso is the best!)get-attachment (4)

After dinner, it was off to the Halloween party. I’m already thinking about what I want to be next year because I can never think of anything creative and next year I really want to make my own costume! Drum Roll Please…….

I went as a sailor and Dan went as a “blind ref.” (Sidenote: His costume was not meant to be offensive in any way, it was all fun and games and all of our friends loved it!). Over all, the night was a lot of fun and lets just say I’m feeling it today. The rest of the day involves a lot of relaxation, pumpkin carving, and some baking! Happy Sunday everyone!

My Weekend Recap

I know the weekend isn’t quite over yet, but I don’t want to have a super long post awaiting me tomorrow evening after the festivities are over!

Last night, Dan had his soccer game and because it finished early, we got to have a date night! We headed over to Longhorn Steakhouse (One of my favorite restaurants by the way!) and enjoyed a delicious meal. If you go sometime  soon, make sure to sign up for their e-mails because you will get a coupon for a free appetizer. If  you haven’t had the wild west shrimp, I highly recommend it. It is amazing!

After dinner, Dan wanted to see the movie “Alex Cross.” And because he supports me and all of my chick flick movies, I tried to be supportive and go see this movie with him. Well,  it was a big epic fail because it was completely violent and had people dying all over the place. I’m not one for negative or sad movies, but if you like action, suspense, and Tyler Perry, then you might be able to take a shot and enjoy this movie. Apparently “Alex Cross” is based on a series of books by James Patterson. I’ve never read any of them, and don’t really intend to with how I felt about the movie. But, never say never!

I’m going to attempt to take pictures of what I wear out, and because I’m new to this, give me some time so I can fully conquer my outfits of the day. =)

Date Night (Pardon the quality- It was on a blackberry and in the movie theater): IMG-20121026-00052get-attachment

Time to get ready for my friends’ annual Halloween party! Have a good Saturday!

“Switch” By Megan Hart

If you know me, you’ll know that I am a big fan of books. I love reading about romance, friendship, traveling, mysteries, and everything else under the sun. There is something so great about having a book in front of you and getting lost in it and not able to think about anything else but what is going on in that story. I’ll proudly admit that I read the Fifty Shades of Grey series by E.L. James and loved it. There is something so great about seeing how much a man and woman love either other (minus all of that other kinky stuff that was involved). If you liked that book, then I think you will enjoy “Switch” by Megan Hart.

While this book was a little bit random at times, and had some jumpy plot lines throughout, it was an overall quick and easy read that was able to capture my attention the week I put into reading this book. The main character goes back and forth between her past relationship and a new neighbor and has many different issues with her mom, her boss, her father, and best friend. There was a lot going on in a small book and some areas were a lot more graphic and one-on-one (if you get what I’m saying); which is a lot different than 50 Shades. I don’t want to give too much away, but if you can get past some of the graphic and undeveloped parts of the story, you have yourself a quick and easy read for some quick entertainment!

Happy Tuesday! Smile

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party!

IMG_2978
If there isn’t anything I love more, it is combining Magic Kingdom and Halloween into an amazing party for everyone to celebrate the holiday.

Dan and I went back in September, but I wanted to post about it and let everyone know that they should definitely go if they love Halloween and Disney!

The party starts at 7:00 PM and goes until Midnight, but you can start getting into the park at 4:00 PM and enjoy all of the attractions and entertainment that Disney has to offer! The best part is that you get to trick-or-treat throughout the park and get all sorts of yummy candy!

(See how excited I was to have my trick-or-treat bag?)

If you do make it to the Halloween party, you HAVE to check out the Halloween Parade that features all of the “evil” Disney characters. (As well as your other favorites!). The Parade happens twice at night allowing you not to miss it! After the Parade, the Panoramic fireworks are definitely not to miss and are done early enough that if you have children with you, you can still get home at a reasonable hour or continue the fun until Midnight!

I have heard the the Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is definitely better than Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, but I have yet to go to that. I’m hoping to check it out sometime in November, so when I do, I can give you a straight answer. Winking smile

My Advice: The earlier you go, the lest crowded it will be, so make note for next year and go in late September or during the week so that the lines are a lot less of a burden.

Tickets are still available through November 2nd, so make sure you get your tickets here while you can!

Typhoon Lagoon

get-attachment

Dan and I made our way to Typhoon Lagoon on Sunday. Neither of us had been to this Disney waterpark so we were anxious to see what it would be like! Our only comparison we had to this park was Blizzard Beach and that is still by far my favorite water park of the two!
Story behind Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon: Legend has it that it was created by a huge storm. The typhoon made the land a perfect source for water slides and it turned into a tropical island full of water slides, rivers, and rapids.

The water park had tons to offer for all ages. The individual and partner slides, a kiddy area, as well as monstrous wave pool that surfers could even surf on! The coolest part was there was a “Swim-n-Snorkel” with baby sharks, sting rays, and fish. We didn’t get the chance to do it because the water was really cold and Dan isn’t a fan of snorkeling. I wish I had more pictures to show but I didn’t have my waterproof camera with me so it made it hard to take pictures considering I was at a water park. Boo.

While it was completely empty in the park due to it being out of season, my advice is to come early and set up camp with your towels on your lounge chairs. It was a tough one trying to find a place for us to lay out!

They have great food, entertainment, and everything you need to have a memorable experience at the waterpark. If you need any Disney advice, don’t hesitate to ask Smile

My Weekend Recap

What a whirlwind weekend this was! I feel like it was just Friday and here it is already Monday.
Friday- I babysat in the morning. I made myself go to the gym to allow myself 30 minutes on the Elliptical. Thank God for the Elliptical TVs showing Sex and the City because I did NOT want to be there working out! Something about it being the weekend makes it so hard for me to get in that gym mode. However, I made it and was happy when it was over. Friday night was low key. I went to Dan’s soccer game and they won. Lucky for me there is a bar inside the soccer complex which allowed me to really enjoy the game. Winking smile
The best news game Friday afternoon. I have officially gone and gotten myself a full time job! I have applied to hundreds thousands of places and finally heard back from this one place and that one place turned out to be an awesome job and has an awesome location so it just fit perfectly! I start in November so until then I’ll continue to my crummy part time job.
Saturday- Consisted of a celebratory dinner to one of my favorite restaurants with Dan. We went to KOBE Japanese Steakhouse and it was divine. I love this place because they cook in front of you so it’s not just a meal you’re having; it’s an experience! We usually go here for special occasions, so when we go we enjoy every second of it! I got the chicken and now wish I had a picture to show you how yummy it looked! Side note: Make sure to get the “white sauce” with your meal. It is SO good and goes great with the noodles/rice/meat/everything they give you!
The last part of the evening was spent at the movies. I have been wanting to see Frankenweenie forever!! MV5BMjIxODY3MjEwNV5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwOTMzNjc4Nw@@._V1._SY317_I am a lover of all things Halloween and thought this would be something good to enhance my Halloween experience for the season. This movie was super cute and I found myself laughing along with all of the other children when they were laughing. (Is that a good or a bad thing??) Some parts were a little upsetting, especially when the dog died, because it hit so close to home for me. But overall, I left feeling happy and that’s the feeling I love the most after going to see a movie. I would definitely recommend it for everyone of all ages!

Sunday- We had GORGEOUS weather here in Orlando so the day was spent outside. We took a trip to Typhoon Lagoon! More on our adventure there in my next post!

Happy Monday Everyone!! Smile

Fall, Leaves, and Pumpkins… Oh My!

fallMy favorite time of the year is here. Fall is just the beginning of  the holiday season. Being here in Orlando, there isn’t much of a transition from Summer to Fall. It’s basically Summer and then when it’s ready to be cold, Mother Nature picks a few days in the year and releases a cold snap. These are by far my favorite days of the year. Being from South Carolina, we always got cooler weather and a change of seasons but now not so much thanks to good ole Florida weather. The weather may not change but my “Fall Attitude” does! I am welcoming this time with open arms with Pumpkin spice candles, Halloween decorations, and my newest tradition- The Pumpkin Patch!
Dan and I made our annual (ok, this is only the second year we’ve done it) trip to the Pumpkin Patch here in Orlando. We went to the Pumpkin Patch in Winter Park at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church. More info about their patch can be found here. While their pumpkins range a bit higher in price, their proceeds are going to the youth ministry to help send their kids on a mission trip to Arizona to help an American Indian tribe. It’s a great cause and if you live in the Orlando area, be sure to check it out.

The had the best selection of pumpkins and while I was wanting to take home a Charlie Brown pumpkin, we settled for a nice plump round one waiting to be gutted out and carved for Halloween!

What are your Halloween traditions?

Wings and Waves Airshow 2012

This past weekend I had the pleasure of spending the weekend in Daytona Beach, Florida, with Dan, my mom, and aunts for some fun in the sun. The Wings and Waves Air Show takes place every other year in Daytona right out front of the Hilton Daytona Beach. (Which is where we stayed). The view is phenomenal and the fact that we can watch the air show from the beach was even better! We were there from Friday to Sunday which was just the perfect time for a quick get away.

Friday night we spent hanging out, catching up with family, and eating dinner at the hotel. Saturday and Sunday was the day of the actual show.  The show featured different groups of pilots that did all types of cool tricks in the sky. While I didn’t get any pictures of the planes actually flying, Dan was snapping away. He was in Heaven. (He actually wanted to be a pilot growing up).

Some Pictures From Left to Right:

1. Dan and I on the beach waiting for the planes to fly over!

2. Dan and I actually got to listen in to the United States Air Force Thunderbirds in their cock pit while they were flying over. It was one of the coolest things to be a part of!

3. Me, Vicky, and my aunts at dinner. What a fun night it was. Smile

4. Dan and I on top of the Ferris Wheel (which you’ll find out I’m a love for) at the Daytona Beach Boardwalk. If you’re in the area, make sure to check out the Boardwalk. It reminds me of a Jersey Shore style boardwalk that only contains food, fun, and entertainment.

I’m already ready for the next Air Show! If you’re in Daytona Beach in 2014 make sure to check it out!

All Or Nothing

Hi! I’m Molly. Welcome to my blog. This is something that I have wanted to do for a while now, and am finally working up the courage to start this thing out. I’m new to this process but have been a lover of many blogs for a while now. I’m a recent graduate of the University of Central Florida and have spenIMG_3030t many unemployed days dreaming of having my own blog to talk about my recent travels and experiences of my life in here Orlando. This is a learning process for me, so hold tight while I figure it out and I promise you this site will be anything but boring. That picture on the side? Yep, that’s me. I was on a Carnival Cruise (which I’m sure you’ll see my blogging about at some point) celebrating my 23rd birthday with my boyfriend Dan. And Dan? We’ve been dating almost 2 years. You’ll probably see him around on the blog often too. Get ready blogging world, I’m officially making my debut!
